Born in Romania, Corina Dumitrescu started her career as a ballet dancer in Bucharest and became a principal dancer shortly within the Bucharest National Opera Ballet Company.
During her outstanding career, she performed the leading roles in classical and neoclassical ballets like Swan Lake, Giselle, Sleeping Beauty, Le Corsaire, La Bayadere, Don Quixote, Romeo and Juliet, Marguerite and Armand, Anna Karenina, La Sylphide, Radio and Juliet, and many others with companies from Romania and all around the world. She performed in prestigious international ballet galas such as "Dance Open" and "Les Etoiles du 21eme Siecle." She is decorated with the "Star of Romania in the rank of Officer."
Since she was still performing, she started teaching and choreographing. As a Master Ballet teacher, she is a certified teacher within the Vaganova Method.
She is the choreographer of Cinderella, Jack and the Beanstalk, Snow White, Alice in Wonderland, and The Little Match Girl with the Comic Opera of Bucharest. For the National Opera of Bucharest, she choreographed Coppelia.
She constantly participates in international competitions as a jury and teaches companies and professional ballet schools.
